| DAY 01 ARRIVAL IN BALIKPAPAN – SANGATTA Meet at the airport and directly transfer to Sangatta town for an overnight on hotel. Free time at your own leisure. (L,D) |

| DAY 02 SANGATTA – KUTAI NATIONAL PARK After breakfast, drive to Kabo village for cruise up to Mentoko by motorized canoe and then soft trekking in the jungle to observe wild Orangutans. In the afternoon, we will trek other trails to explore more Orangutans and other wildlife creatures. Mentoko is a site in Kutai National Park which offers various trekking trails to explore even more wild Orangutans and other animals; a Japanese scientist built a research camp to study for the orangutans here. In the peaceful evening, we will have a night safari for observing nocturnal animals such as tarantula, insects, birds, and many more. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight on research camp or tent. (B,L,D) |

| DAY 03 KUTAI NATIONAL PARK – KABO VILLAGE – SAMARINDA In the morning, we will be trekking in different trails of the jungle to observe Orangutans, monkeys, birds, insects, etc. Next, we will cruise down the Mentoko river back to Kabo village for catching our coach to drive to Samarinda for an overnight stay on a hotel. | DAY 04 SAMARINDA – MAHAKAM RIVER – MUARA MUNTAI After breakfast at the hotel, we will proceed to a boat station for cruising the Mahakam river with a public houseboat, here you can explore the local people way of life, the riverside civilization that is certainly different from our normal life on the land. The houseboat is a public traditional wooden boat with two decks, the first deck is for carrying goods and economy class with a capacity of about 100 passengers and the second deck is for executive class with capacity of 75 passengers. The economy room is more open on both sides and offers no mattress while the executive ones will provide a mattress, a communal room, no cabin and no AC. At the back side on the first deck, there are some Borneo style toilets and a simple restaurant providing Indonesian food, teas, coffees, and snacks. The boat will stop sometimes to pick and drop passengers or loading some supplies. Arrive at Muara Muntai and directly check in to the lodge. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight on lodge. (B,L,D) |

| DAY 05 MUARA MUNTAI – MANCONG –KOTA BANGUN – BALIKPAPAN Proceed to Mancong by a motorized canoe crossing the Jempang Lake which we will have the opportunity to view many migratory water bird species and fishermen floating houses as well as the romantic Ohong River where proboscis monkeys, monitor lizards and other wild animals are hanging around at riverside. In Mancong, we will explore an exotic longhouse and Benuaq Dayak daily life. Afterwards, proceed to Kota Bangun for to catch a car drive to Balikpapan for an overnight at the hotel. (B,L,D) |
